What We Do
HUMANGZT The Human Gazette reports facts. Nothing else. No clickbait, no manipulation, no corporate agenda. Just humans investigating stories and telling you what we found.
Every fact we report comes with proof. You can check our sources, see our evidence, and verify our claims yourself. We don't ask you to trust us - we show you why you should.
How We Started
Dan Rodriguez watched journalism die by a thousand clicks.
Every day brought new proof that news had lost its way. Serious investigations buried under celebrity gossip. Climate science next to weight loss ads. War coverage interrupted by pop-up videos about trending dances.
The breaking point came when Dan saw a major news site run an "article" about a new energy drink directly above footage of refugee camps. The energy drink piece was labeled "news." The refugee story was marked "opinion."
That's when Dan realized the problem wasn't just bad journalism - it was the entire system. Algorithms rewarded engagement over accuracy. Advertisers shaped editorial decisions. Speed mattered more than truth. News became entertainment, and entertainment became news.
Dan decided to build something that put facts first. Not clicks. Not ad revenue. Not corporate interests. Just verifiable information that helped people understand their world.
HUMANGZT The Human Gazette started with one simple question: what if readers could check every fact themselves?
Our Team
Dan Rodriguez, Founder
BA in Media Studies, MSc in Social Anthropology. Designer and activist who got tired of watching journalism rot from the inside.
Dan wants to make news about news. He's sick of protein shake ads running next to articles about the war in Gaza. Tired of marketing disguised as journalism. Fed up with algorithms deciding what counts as important.
His background spans media theory, human behavior, design thinking, and social change. He understands how information shapes society and how society shapes information. Most importantly, he knows the difference between news that serves democracy and news that serves shareholders.
HUMANGZT The Human Gazette combines everything Dan learned about media, culture, and human psychology into one simple idea: show people exactly how you know what you know. No tricks, no manipulation, no corporate agenda. Just facts with receipts.
Join Our Mission

Our Process
Every story starts with a question. We research until we find answers backed by evidence. We check sources, verify claims, and document everything. When we don't know something, we say so. When evidence is weak, we explain why.
Our fact-checking happens in real-time. Each claim in our articles connects to its source immediately. You see primary documents, witness interviews, official records, and expert analysis. You know exactly how we know what we know.
We update stories when facts change. We correct mistakes prominently and immediately. We explain our editorial decisions and reasoning. Transparency isn't just a principle - it's our operating system.
Our Technology
We're building something that's never existed: a fact-checking system that works in real-time while you read. Every claim in our articles connects directly to its source. Click any fact and see the original document, witness interview, or data that supports it. No trust required—just verification.
Readers can rate sources and suggest improvements, but, our fact-checkers use this feedback as just one data point among many. The final verification decisions stay in professional hands, protected from manipulation or bias. Community input helps us spot problems and find better sources, but it never overrides journalistic judgment. We harness collective intelligence while maintaining editorial control.
Our Standards
- Human Authorship: Every word comes from human journalists. AI might help us research, but humans do the thinking, writing, and judgment.
- Source Verification: Every factual claim links to verifiable evidence. We distinguish between strong and weak sources, primary and secondary evidence.
- Editorial Independence: Reader subscriptions fund our work. No advertisers, no corporate sponsors, no government money. Our only obligation is to accuracy.
- Transparency: You can see our funding, our methods, our mistakes, and our corrections. We publish what we know and how we know it.
What We Cover
- Government Accountability: Politicians make promises and spend public money. We track what they actually do.
- Corporate Power: Companies affect your life through products, policies, and environmental impact. We investigate their real effects.
- International Affairs: Global events shape local realities. We explain connections between distant conflicts and daily life.
- Environmental Crisis: Climate change, pollution, and resource depletion threaten human survival. We report the science and the solutions.
- Technology Impact: Digital platforms change how we communicate, work, and think. We examine their real-world consequences.
- Social Justice: Inequality, discrimination, and systemic problems persist because they stay hidden. We make them visible.
Why We Exist
Democracy requires informed citizens. Citizens need accurate information. Accurate information needs independent journalists willing to pursue truth regardless of consequences.
We exist because the current news system fails this basic requirement. Profit motives corrupt editorial decisions. Algorithmic distribution prioritizes engagement over accuracy. Corporate consolidation eliminates diverse perspectives.
HUMANGZT The Human Gazette proves journalism can work differently. Reader funding eliminates corporate pressure. Transparent methodology builds trust. Human-centered reporting serves public interest instead of private profit.
Our Promise
We will report what we find, not what you want to hear. We will show our work, not ask for blind trust. We will correct mistakes quickly and prominently. We will prioritize accuracy over speed, depth over convenience, truth over comfort.
We won't manipulate your emotions or confirm your biases. We won't oversimplify complex issues or provide false certainty about uncertain situations. We won't pretend neutrality where moral clarity exists.
We will treat you like an intelligent adult capable of handling difficult truths and making informed decisions.
